Quinta da Boavista is a renowned wine estate with a history of producing bold and rich wines since 1756. In 2020 it was bought by Sogevinus Fine Wines, one of the most important Douro wine groups.
Spread over 80 hectares, the estate features hand-built vineyard terraces supported by schist walls. Together with the olive, orange and almond groves, this makes for an extremely picturesque environment.
Wine consultant Jean-Claude Berrouet, who was responsible for Château Pétrus for over 40 years, collaborates with Quinta da Boavista to ensure the continued success of its viticultural projects. The blend of traditional winemaking methods and modern innovation has resulted in the production of some of the world’s finest wines.
In particular, the Quinta da Boavista Vinha do Ujo 2014, Vinha do Ujo 2017, Vinha do Oratório 2015 and Vinha do Oratório 2018 stood out for us at a recent estate wine tasting. We also appreciated the perfect acidic balance of BOA-VISTA Reserva Red 2016. Manually harvested, aged in French oak barrels and sealed under natural cork, Quinta da Boavista wines are rich and complex.
